What is the process for obtaining Safety certification from Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS)?

For Getting your products certified from BIS under CRO scheme. First you need to check your final product total applicable standards. For Example: A mobile phone attracts Multiple standards to be tested before getting the final compliance certificate. Cells as per IS 16046, Battery as per IS 16046, Adaptor as per IS 13252, Language support as per IS 16333, Mobile phone itself as per IS 13252.

Then you need to prepare samples of your lead model.

Getting the login credentials from BIS for filing

Raised the test request from BIS online portal

Shipping the samples to BIS recognized lab

Getting your final reports from lab

Submitting the application in BIS with appropriate documents

Getting the Registration certificate (R-number) from BIS.
